Information for International Students
Our International Programs office welcomes your interest in Union College. Founded in 1795 as the first planned campus in the United States, Union is a highly selective, private, liberal arts college with engineering that is consistently ranked among the nation’s top colleges. Set on 120 acres in downtown Schenectady, N.Y., including eight acres of formal gardens and woodland known as Jackson’s Garden, Union is within easy reach of New York City, Boston and Montreal, rural areas and major East Coast ski slopes.
Interested in an undergraduate degree program? Apply to join over 2,100 full-time undergraduates from 38 states, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and 34 countries on Union's close-knit campus.
Looking for an exchange student opportunity? Union partners with several universities to offer various programs. Spend one or two terms studying on campus, or apply for an entire academic year to integrate more fully into the dynamic and diverse culture at Union.
Once accepted into a program, the International Programs office will help with U.S. immigration, arriving to campus, and adjusting to student life at Union. Our mission is to enrich your academic and extracurricular experiences on campus, while enjoying your time abroad in Schenectady and upstate New York.
Note: Students who are 2-year dual degree-seeking candidates from Kansai Gaidai University or participants in the Brazil Scientific Mobility Program should apply to Union College through the office of Admissions.
