Union's terms abroad programs help students do both – enrich their understanding of other countries while gaining new perspectives about themselves.

Indeed, the term abroad is a highlight of a Union education, full of experiences, insights and friendships students take with them for the rest of their lives.

Whether they are exploring the marine ecology of Australia, delving into engineering courses at Czech Technical University in Prague or using the ancient temples and tombs of Greece as a living laboratory, Union students invariably list their overseas studies as one of their most memorable college experiences.

Our International Programs Office helps students navigate every step of the process – deciding where to go, presenting a strong application and making the most of their immersion in another culture.

And when their stay is over, we help them re-acclimate to campus life with an eye toward integrating what they've learned into their studies and connecting their new global selves with the campus community.

Union has long been a leader in international programs. More than 60 percent of our students go on a term abroad-- a truly impressive figure. We design our own programs, with most led by Union faculty who have particular knowledge or research interests in the selected country.
